We are excited to introduce our new local artist Megan Harrigan Cox.  Megan is an artist who has been studying photography since 1990.  In 1995 she graduated cum laude from Western Illinois University, receiving her bachelor’s degree with a photography major and double-minor in art and journalism.  She also studied photography in the master’s program at Columbia College Chicago in 1996.

“When photographing cityscapes my intention is to record the collision of God and mans’ creations.  I am in awe of visual convergences which are born through a series of unconscious interactions that culminate into one single, defined moment.

Though such a moment may initially appear random, it is my opinion that each moment is purposeful.  I intend to explore the possibility that these fleeting visual events are pieced together for our benefit to teach, inspire, warn and guide.  I hope that you will consider this not only as you view these photographs, but as you navigate the surroundings of your own life.” -Megan Harrigan Cox
